I know, I know. It would be very classic of me to reference Jane Birkin here. And while she absolutely played a role in the inspiration behind Painted Lady, I'd rather put Pattie Boyd front and center.

More specifically, one photo of Pattie Boyd and George Harrison walking through Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco in 1967.

That photo genuinely changed my brain chemistry. I mean, the orange and black patterned mini dress? Iconic. Only Pattie could somehow steal the spotlight while standing next to a Beatle.

What I love about Pattie is that she wasn't just a muse. She was a model, photographer, style icon, and creative force in her own right. She had this effortless way of dressing that felt playful, a little eccentric, and completely her own. Nothing looked overthought, which somehow made it all the more memorable.

I think that's what draws me to her. She always looked like she got dressed for herself first.
